A Series of Six Student-Directed One Act Plays

This set needed to function for 6 different one act plays with minimal prop and furniture change between each (and all in one evening). Each script was very different, and without a common thread between each one. I decided to celebrate that diversity and make the whole set an explosion of scripts creating an abstract world for all of these stories to take place in. The result is the design that you see here: an entire set crafted out of 10,000+ pieces of paper from the various scripts in the show.

An event celebrating the 150'th anniversary of Lewis Carroll's "Alice In Wonderland". Featuring a special guest appearance and book signing by Gregory Maguire (author of "Wicked") in promotion of his newest book "After Alice". I was asked to create a photo op for guests (who were encouraged to wear Alice themed costumes). I re-created the famous mad tea party scene from the novel with a rustic and earthy spin on it. Guests were able to go behind the table and be fully immersed into the world of Wonderland while interacting with the props available and having their picture taken for a very unique souvenir of their evening.
As a Scenic Designer and a Designer's Assistant, I build intricate scale models of production sets to help directors, set builders, and actors get a clear picture of the design of the production before the actual set is built.
Most of the models are only a few inches tall and scales vary from 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" = 1'-0".
Paint renderings are completed to be sent to the paint deck so that the painters know which colors and textures to apply to the scenery and where.
Renderings here are completed on 11" x 17" cardstock and painted with gouache, acrylic and ink.
A collection of visual art I have done both for fun and for classes. Mediums range from sculpture, gouache, acrylic, construction paper, and found objects.
